Artists like Trinidad James aren’t the real problem at all. It’s program directors who play his music as if it is comparable to real Hip Hop, that are the problem. The confusion about whether his lack of mic skillz or questionable talent in general, should get airtime, is part of how Radio and Mixtape Deejays destroyed the quality of mainstream rap music. Hot 97 NYC program director, Ebro, may or may not be an OK dude off the mic, but this clip shows how people like him have intentionally dumbed-down the music in a desperate search for ratings and a paycheck at the end of the week.
