This video is an insight to the symbolism of Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s book “Club Dumas” and Roman Polansky’s movie adaptation of the book “The Ninth Gate.” It doesn’t by any means delve into all the symbology found there in however one can see there is something more in the story than meets the eyes. If someone is offended by this video or deems the themes contained as satanic I’m sorry but it means such persons didn’t understand the symbolism. Excellent video. This is one on my favorite movies of all times because of its brilliant directing by Polanski and the symbolism contained in the story. How a movie about books becomes so suspenseful and thrilling is a testament to the director and superb acting by Johnny Depp and others. Your interpretations of the content are spot on. I’ve collected occult books for years, and this is one of my all time favorite movies. I always watch it when it is on Tv. In fact, I had it on in the background as I was bumping my new music just yesterday. I never could figure out if Depp’s female guide was angel or demon….maybe that is the dualistic view that keeps me trapped below the abyss……Great movie.
The explanation depicted shows that she represents both. To the traveler seeking material power, she is a demon. To the seeker of knowledge she is an angel.
