Sunday May 18th is Hip Hop Appreciation Day, which is the first day of Hip Hop Appreciation Week during what is becoming known as Hip Hop Appreciation Month (not to be confused with Hip Hop History Month – November). Appreciation is something different even if it is just slightly. Appreciation is more active than acknowledging history. It’s about showing love and coming together to commune and show love for Hip Hop. And what is Hip Hop? To my people that really know, it’s just us. We are Hiphop consciousness and Hip Hop Appreciation Week is about showing love to the past, the present, and the future Hiphoppas by keeping our Hip Hop Kulture intact.
