The 100th episode of the NY Hip Hop Report

Manny Faces and Steve Ortiz celebrated the 100th episode of their weekly talk show on the NY Hip Hop Report. The show is a weekly discussion about topics relevant to the Hip Hop community from the perspective of the birth place of the culture. The NY Hip Hop Report looks at the hot issues of today but only as they relate to the where Hip Hop started, giving adult Hiphoppas a chance to voice their concerns. The live call-in show featured legendary Queens emcee, Cormega speaking eloquently about the under served needs of the True School Hip Hop market. This market is addressed in detail with well-thought out verses and precision-crafted production from Large Professor on their new collaborative effort called, Mega Philosophy.

As a long-time listener and regular caller, I enjoy the “inside baseball”, in-depth discussions about topics outside of the mainstream drivel and gossip. The show allows deeper discussion to take place and callers to add on to the sessions with their unfiltered perspectives. Manny and Steve also highlight happenings in the NY metro area that tap into the underground rawness of Hip Hop Kulture. This week, EOW veteran, Majesty checked in to tell everyone about his legendary cypher series held in Union Square park every Friday night from 8pm – 12pm. This open-air freestyle Hip Hop jam session is open to the public and can be part of a well-balanced diet of cultural elements.
