Lil Kim pioneered Hip Hop sex appeal for women

There is really no dispute to who pioneered the sexy image for female rappers. No one before her did it better or as hard core as she did. A live show we captured in 1996 is proof positive that Lil Kim put it all out there on the stage. However, when you look around the internet today, the majority of Lil Kim pictures are ones where she looks pretty crazy. It an example of what Tommy Sotomayor says about Hollywood clowning “Black” women. Lil Kim is kind of the poster child for that in Hip Hop. There are thousands of pics of Lil Kim with questionable make-up and hair choices and the plastic surgery got really excessive. Lil Kim used to look really normal and sexy at times. It just wasn’t enough. The amount of attention she got could be amplified if she could just look a little sexier. I don’t really blame her for the breast implants and ass injections, because in the genre of hip-hop music she started, sex appeal was a plus. When we first caught up with Lil Kim for a live performance in 1996, she used to wear a see-through negligee with nothing on underneath. You can see how raw she was by going to our VIDEO ON DEMAND section on HipHopLives.net. The link can viewed below as well. Enjoy!
