Kurt Nice aka Kurtiss Jackson is a behind the scenes pioneer in the Hip Hop Kulture, creating the first nationally distributed video mix tape series, Shades of Hip Hop, in the late 1990s.   1. When Sam Seidel, a scholar in residence at Columbia University, began writing his book Hip Hop Genius: Remixing High School Education , he Googled the phrase “hip hop pedagogy” and found not one hit. Today there are tens of thousands.
